Jim Slater
Jim Slater is the president and Chief Flight Instructor (CFI) of Courtenay Flight Center. Jim's flying background includes over 25 years of service as military aircrew. Since 1980 Jim has been devoted to flight training in the Comox Valley. He was the Chief Flight Instructor (CFI) for both Comox Flying Club and WaltAir before becoming the owner and CFI for Courtenay Flight Center. Jim has accumulated over 17,000 hours of flying with 7,000 hours spent teaching and setting the high standards Courtenay Flight Center has come to be known for. In addition to his role of owner and CFI, Jim is also a Class 1 Instructor, Float pilot, and Designated Flight Test Examiner.
